I have been loading records from Wanted Techologies and we are having issues with current accounts. They are all essentially leads coming from Wanted because they do not know if the company is an existing account or not. We have had reps delete the 'lead' that was from Wanted because they are already an account. The problem is when I re-import the updated list from Wanted the following week, that 'lead' is back in the list and it creates it new. We now have the same information on the existing account and a new lead for that same customer.

Does anyone know if there is a way for the data loader to look to see if there is an existing account and update that first and then go and update leads? If it finds an existing account then there is no reason to update or create a lead. I am using a hash number from Wanted that is unique and is a field on the account and lead levels. I am not sure if there is a way to do that. Thoughts?

No, you'll need to segregate the data into separate files for Accounts and Leads first them upload them separately
