Can I make the Opportunity "Stage" field a dependent field?

We would like to have our Opportunity "Stages" vary according to the business unit selected. Is this possible?

 

I would prefer to make the Opportunity "Stage" field a dependent field. Thanks in advance!

    Hi - Did you ever find a way to do this in PE whereby the custom stage field can update the probability field. Obviously WF rules cant be used in this instance.
