In the "Customize the UI for a Recruiting App" project, the Candidate custom object is expected to be pre-created as part of the recruiting app setup in earlier steps of the trailmix or a prerequisite project.

If the Candidate object is missing, here is how to create it manually: 

1. Go to Setup [arrow] Object Manager [arrow] Create [arrow] Custom Object.
2. Set the Label to Candidate and the Plural Label to Candidates.
3. Set the Object Name to Candidate (API name will be Candidate__c).
4. Under Features, check: "Allow Reports", "Allow Activities", "Track Field History", and "Allow in Chatter".
5. Click Save.
6. Then proceed to add the required fields (Name, Status, etc.) and create the Lightning record page for the Candidate object as described in the project steps.

Tip: If the project references a pre-existing org with the object already configured, use the trailmix "Get Org" button to reset your Trailhead Playground to the correct starting state.

Create a Custom Candidate Record Page -->

Go to Setup -->Object Manager -->Candidate.

Open Lightning Record Pages -->New.

Select Record Page -->Next.

Name it Candidate Record Page --> Next.

Choose a template --> Finish.

Drag required standard components onto the page (per challenge).

Click Save --> Activate.

Set as Org Default or App Default

Open a Candidate record to confirm the page is applied.

Return to Trailhead and click Verify.
