Can i create automations of a file that is yet to be dropped via ftp ? So that immediately it drops the automation can start executing? Or do i have to wait till it drops before i create the automations? I am talking of automations like sending email

Yes. Actually you have to create the file drop automation before the file is dropped on the FTP. The idea is to have the automation already configured and active when the file is dropped.
