Change birthday email for next year

I have an automatic email set up to go out on all of my contacts birthdays. It has been going for about a year, and I would like to send a different email template so they don't receive the same happy birthday email this next year. How can I just change the template to a different birthday template?

    Hi Jodie,

     

    In order to change the template you have two options. Alter the existing email template that is being sent out so your contacts don't get the same email as last year.

     

    Or identify what process is sending the email and update the designated email template with a new one. Do you know what sends the emails out? A workflow rule and email alert perhaps?
