Can someone please tell me how I can restrict who approves in the approval process?  I have created a custom opportunity lookup (user) field named Approver.  (The purpose of this field is to provide sales reps with a list of approvers that they can choose an approver from if the opportunity contains a discounted product.)  When they submit the opportunity for approval then the approval process is fired off, sending an email to the approver that they need to approve the discount.

The problem I'm seeing is that even though the approval process specifies that the person selected in Approver should do the approval, another sales rep can go in and approve the opportunity.  Not good.

So again my question is: How can I restrict who can actually approve the opportunity?

(Interestingly, I asked someone who is not a sales rep to visit the opportunity approval history and they did not have the option to approve the opportunity.)

Thanks!

As it turns out, it isn't a big deal that others have the ability to approve.  It doesn't mean that they will be able to cheat the system by getting someone to approve that isn't one of the people in the Approver picklist.  That's because the person selected from the Approver list will get an approval email notification, and if someone else has approved then when they try to go approve the opportunity the approval request will no longer exist.  They will then be able to look at the opportunity's approvals and see who did the approval.  That should be fine.
