Have a user trying to add an opportunity to an account they own and it states the following error:

Portal Account Owner Has No Role

An organization owner must be associated with a role to enable portal users or transfer portal users to his or her organization.

Which is strange, because the user/owner has a role associated with to them.

Any help would be appreciated.

I was working in a trailhead org where I was the admin, but my user object record did not have a "Role" assigned.   I first created a role using  setup->users->roles  I simply called it "anotherrole"   in hindsight I think I could have used an exising one or could have made one called Admin.  Notice the wording in the error,  the parient user needs a "Role".   After reading the above messages, I also cloned the CRM user permission set calling (could have been any permission set) and it "Admin Needs".  I edited the "Admin Needs" permission set and granted  all the "Users" section rights (scroll to bottom to see this section) which contained : Manage Users for create, edit, deactive, security settings, profles and roles.  I then assinged this permission set to my user in  setup->users->users and clicking on my name, then clicked on the top menu "Permisson Set Assignments" and added in the new permission set I just created .   Doing these steps resolved the issue.  My guess is this occurs becuase default admin users in a Trailhead do not get all the rights a standard admin would get in a real world org.
