Launch Your Trailhead Playground

Community Cloud is stepping aside for the new kid in town: Experience Cloud. Community Cloud lets you build more than just communities—you can also use it to build portals, help centers, forums, sites, mobile apps, and manage your content. So to better reflect the many types of experiences you can create, we’re now called Experience Cloud. While we’re excited to announce this new name to the world, note that the name in the product is remaining Community Cloud for a little bit longer. Use Experience Cloud for all powerful features you’ve come to cherish with Community Cloud.

Learning Objectives

In this project, you’ll:
  • Build a bare-bones customer account portal.
  • Define specific experiences for specific audiences.
  • Deliver personalized experiences using audience targeting.

Let’s Get This Party Started

In this project, you build a personalized customer account portal for different audiences. The goal is to introduce you to audience targeting in Experience Builder, so that different portal users logging in to the same account portal see the information that is directly targeted at them. By the end of this project, you will have taken all the steps necessary to expose different portal or community experiences to different audiences. Let’s outline them here.

  1. Create a community or portal.
  2. Create customer users, and assign them to a Community Cloud license and profile.
  3. Create different page variations for community or portal pages.
  4. Create audiences with criteria meeting your needs.
  5. Assign the audience to the pages (or specific components on pages).
  6. Publish and activate your community or portal.

Let’s get started!
