Accelerate Salesforce Adoption
After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:
- Define adoption.
- Explain the benefits of having high adoption.
- Identify the best time to address your company’s adoption.
To understand how to address adoption, you first need to know what it is. At its core, adoption is about someone using a solution that’s available to them. As an example, let’s take our puppy friend, Bark Vader.
Bark Vader is a good pup with a bad back. The good news is, there’s a special dog bed for that. His parents buy him the bed, but being the skeptic that he is, Bark Vader opts to sleep next to the bed.
Bark Vader is missing out on an opportunity to solve his back woes; if he doesn’t sleep in the bed, his back won’t get better. This, dear Trailblazer, is what we call an adoption problem.
In the business world, adoption is all about getting someone to use a solution that is available to them. When we talk about Salesforce adoption, it means a company (your company) has Salesforce, and someone (you) wants to make sure the end users (your sales reps) use it.
Yes, it sounds a lot like herding cats. But don’t worry, we have plenty of tips and tricks to help get your sales reps using Salesforce every day. And your sales reps will be happier for it—just ask Bark Vader.
So why is adoption so important? Simply put, you won’t see a return on your Salesforce investment unless your team actually uses it. Prolific adoption leads to strong ROI and positions your reps and your company for success.
Benefits to your reps:
- Enhances productivity
- Strengthens customer relationships with better information about their customers
- Creates mobility: Reps can work from anywhere
Benefits to your company:
- Boosts revenue
- Creates real-time visibility into current and future deals
- Greater transparency
- Provides a 360 view of your customer base
You can get started on adoption now, no matter where you are in your Salesforce journey: whether you’re considering buying Salesforce, working on rolling it out, or have been using it for years.
In this module, we lay out tactics that have proven to help increase Salesforce adoption. We organized them in a way to make adoption as simple and seamless as possible for your company. Of course, feel free to activate these tactics at any time—even after you launch. It’s never too late, and adoption is much too important not to tackle, wherever you are in the process.
Ready? Set? Go! (And have fun!)
