I've seen the ideas about using the 'Contains' function but that didn't seem to work with this map. What we are trying to do is have a parameter (I tried the filter option and it didn't work with the distance calculation) that can be a drop down list to select from OR allow the user to type in a name. The actual list is composted of over 4k names. The attached workbook has a very small subsection of names to work with.
Not opposed to have the parameter on the dB twice (once as a drop down and once as a type in) but that wasn't working either because when one switched the other didn't and it didn't show anything.
Thanks.

Hi Thomas,
A workaround would be using a 'combo' of the Dimension Filter and the Parameter Action,
A user selects value(s) from the Filter, then hits the APPLY 'Header-as-Button' object.
Please find the attached.
