When I run the report, I pull back zero records after I enter the custom filter, Industry: Equals Electronics. I have everything else match exactly the requirements state and I am at a loss. Any recommendations would be great. Reports = Cases and Filters = All Cases, All Time, Days. Thank you in advance!

Actually as stated by Nik & Pracha earlier (Thanks guys!) I ran a simple report by cases for just Electronics industry and yes there were 3 available, so now I know it must be a filtering issue of some sort and will triple check my inputs. I appreciate all the feedback everyone!

Jagadeesh M - Thank you I think I may just make a new playground at this point, thanks again all for you input and help!

    Hi @Kurt Hohmann

Trailhead playground consists of sample data, if there are any changes have made to them, the result as per the instruction from the challenge would change. So please make sure that there are no changes was made Or give it a try in a brand new trailhead playground and check if you are able to get the accurate results as per the instructions. Thank you!

Correction to my last note: The "Type" = Electronics. So just to add one more point, I think I mentioned this earlier, I did do a separate report on just industry = Electronics and located 3 closed records.

Ok so whomever wishes to take a look I have completed the exercise up to the point where I have entered the first filter field called "Energy". Ok so after this point I the instructions say to enter in another Industry called "Electronics" at which point again, all the data disappears. What from the following data is not working? I have data here that says industry electronics, but it's not filtering correctly for some odd reason, thank you again all for your help!

chirag ahir (Bell) - I think ensuring the actual data exists for "electronics" is my go to here first to make sure the actual data is there. Now, when I click on Cases and my cases I see a list of records but nothing on the headers stipulates industries. How can I view all the available industries for these cases? thank you much!

    Hello @Kurt Hohmann

,  For the "Industry: Equals Electronics" filter, make sure that the field name matches exactly; sometimes it's a custom field or labeled differently. Also, ensure there’s actual data in the system for "Electronics" under the Industry field. If it's blank or mismatched, that could explain the zero records. Finally, confirm you're using the correct report type ("Cases") and filters ("All Cases," "All Time").

    Hope it will helps!

Try removing the filter Industry Equals Electronic and see if you get any data.  Then look at your data to see if any data records have the Industry Electronic.

Without seeing the data, and a screenshot of the filter, I'm assuming that none of your data has the Industry Electronic.

If there are records with the Industry Electronic, then there may be some other filter preventing it from being display.

Normally when I run into report issues like this, it's best to look at all the data and see if anything matches the filter and then figure it out from there.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello,

First, double-check the data to ensure that there are actual records in your system with Industry: Electronics. Sometimes the issue is simply that there’s no data matching the filter. You can do this by creating a simpler report with just the industry field visible to see if any records show electronics. Next, verify the filter criteria. You mentioned Industry: Equals Electronics. Make sure there are no additional spaces or typos in the filter value. Salesforce can be case-sensitive for certain fields, so electronics would not match electronics.

Also, double-check the scope of the report. You mentioned that the filter is set to All Cases, All Time, and Days. Ensure that All Time is selected and no other date filters, like Last 7 Days, are inadvertently applied. If your organization has custom sharing rules, make sure your user profile has the correct permissions and visibility into the data you’re looking for. Then, confirm the industry field’s visibility. If it’s hidden due to field-level security settings, it might prevent the system from including it in the report or showing matching records.

If you’re using multiple filters, check how they’re being applied. The AND/OR logic between filters can affect your results. For example, combining a time filter with an industry filter using AND might unintentionally limit the data. Lastly, confirm that the report-type cases include all the fields you expect. If Industry is a custom field added through a related object, the report type might not support it.

To troubleshoot further, run the report without any filters to confirm that records are showing at the base level. Then, gradually add filters one by one, starting with Industry: Equals Electronics, to see at which point the results disappear.

    Hope it will be useful
