Is there a way to link/associate Contract Records together?

We have instances in which a Master Services Agreement is executed with an entity.  We'll then create multiple SOW for any number of different divisions of that entity, but all tied back to the MSA.  Each SOW tends to have its own terms.  For this reason, we create unique Contract Records for each SOW.  Similarly, if there is an Amendment to the MSA we create a separate Contract Record.

 

How can we link the SOW and/or amendment Contract Records back to the MSA Contract Record?

    Hi John, 

     

    I'd imagine that the most obvious solution would be to create a lookup field from contract, to contract, where you can link the MSA.

     

    With that being said, I'm wondering whether that's necessary. Within the context of a contract, do you have any way of identifying the MSA? For example, is it related to the same account and has a unique, identifiable name? If so, you could build a flow that searches for it and displays a link. It means you won't have to do the manual work of populating a new field.
