Unfortunately an account owner change doesn't change the opportunity owner when done by account assignment rules. You would have to look at an apex trigger that would, upon changing the account owner, would change any open opportunities to the new account owner. I did find this page (http://salesforcedeveloperblog.blogspot.ca/2011/05/opportunity-owner-updated-by-account.html" target="_blank), but I cannot in any way guarantee it would work. I'd recommend that you talk with your developer on staff (if you happen to have one), or a trusted partner that you have worked with before.
