My question is - can person accounts be used on the contact roles object on accounts and opportunities?
The reason I ask is that we work with a lot of individual therapists, their clients who become our clients generate opportunities. I want to be able to have those individual therapists listed in the contact roles section and, I also want a therapists person account to have a rleated list detailing which patients they are are attached to - any help is appreciated.

Yes. Person Accounts are actually Accounts and Contacts "in one".
