Analyze Reports

Learning Objectives

  • Create and customize a report.
  • Schedule an automated report.

Reports

Dashboards and workbenches offer a great opportunity to watch and analyze data in real time. But if you prefer to get data from a specific period of time delivered to you on a set schedule, check out Analyze reports. You can create reports on dashboards or posts and choose exactly what data to include in the report. 

You can schedule the report to send daily or monthly and share reports with members of the same workspace. Social Studio formats the report in PDF for sharing or printing.

You can create reports based on these options.

Report Type
Description
Post Report (Social Account)
This report includes a list of posts and their metrics and workflow that were published during a specified time range for the selected social accounts.
Post Report (Topic Profile)
This report includes a list of posts and their metrics and workflow that were published during a specified time range for your selected topic profile.
Dashboard Report
This report includes data about a selected dashboard within the time range you specify.
Real-Time Post Report (Topic Profile)
This report includes posts for a topic profile as they come in. You can set the report frequency to every 10 minutes, 30 minutes, hour, or 3 hours. Use filters to include relevant posts.

Create an Analyze Report

Here’s how you can create a report in Social Studio Analyze. Make sure you’re in the relevant workspace to create a report for it. From the Analyze gallery, click Reports to get started. The Social Studio Analyze interface for creating a report with a mouse cursor on the Create Report button.

  1. Click Create Report.
  2. Select a report type.
  3. Select a social account or topic profile to base the report data on.

The report is created. Now you can select options for your report, such as a dataset for a topic profile, a date range, filters like media type or languages, and a format for the report output. If you want to schedule the report, click the Schedule field to select a frequency option. You can select daily, weekly, or monthly, choose specific dates or times, and set start and end dates. Click Save Changes to set the report schedule.

When you’re ready, click Done to finish your report. After the schedule is set, the status changes to Active within the list of Analyze reports.

Want to run the report on demand? No problem! Click the report in the list to run and view it. List of reports in Social Studio Analyze with a mouse cursor on a report.

With the report open, you can click Download to export the report or edit the report to schedule it.
