Learning Objectives

After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Identify how Flosum DevSecOps accelerates releases.
  • Describe how the Flosum Trust Center maintains the security of Salesforce environments.
  • Summarize how users recover lost data with Backup, Restore, and Archive.
  • Explain how developers can use Data Migrator to manage and deploy data.

Flosum Products

The Flosum platform is a suite of four products:

  • DevSecOps
  • Trust Center
  • Backup, Restore, and Archive
  • Data Migrator

Together, these four products consolidate an organization’s tech solutions, which eliminates siloed tools and simplifies DevSecOps and data-management processes.

Let’s dig into the features and functionality of each product, and discover how each one addresses common DevSecOps challenges and optimizes Salesforce DevSecOps.

Flosum DevSecOps

The DecSecOps lifecycle symbol with a shield in the background representing DevSecOps processes

As we’ve already discussed, companies that don’t implement strong DevSecOps strategies often struggle with siloed tools, data security, versioning issues, and third-party integrations.

By providing a cohesive, collaborative, and secure tool, Flosum DevSecOps lets teams create repeatable, scalable, and efficient processes.

DevSecOps:

  • Automates deployment steps and quality gates with easily configurable and reusable native pipelines.
  • Surfaces—and allows users to remedy—any potential code overwrites through an Overwrite Protection feature.
  • Enforces governance standards and separation of duties with prebuilt roles and org permissions.
  • Uses Salesforce dashboards and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking for reporting and analytics.

Flosum Trust Center

A shield with a check mark representing security

Third-party development and custom code can pose several security challenges for companies using the Salesforce Platform.

To overcome these challenges, Flosum’s Trust Center provides always-on monitoring that maintains the security of Salesforce environments.

The Trust Center:

  • Scans Salesforce orgs and source code for potential security threats and data breaches, which provides a consolidated view of all org settings for security enforcement.
  • Lets users build security policy templates and apply them to multiple orgs to enforce security rules.
  • Alerts users to potential security violations and code conflicts within each stage of the DevSecOps process so development teams can act quickly.
  • Automates remediation tasks, or lets users manually deploy fixes to remedy policy violations.
  • Provides detailed audit trails of all changes so users can prioritize remediation based on threat level.
  • Masks data belonging to production and sandbox environments to ensure that data is never compromised.

Flosum Backup, Restore, and Archive

A cloud with an arrow representing data being backed up

If teams don’t have the proper tools, then migration errors, integration issues, human error, and bad code can wreak havoc on their development process.

Flosum Backup, Restore, and Archive mitigates the impact of these incidents by securely storing data and metadata and letting users locate and recover lost data quickly and easily.

Backup, Restore, and Archive:

  • Automates data backups and compares backup instances while maintaining all parent-child relationships.
  • Identifies lost data and restores records (full, point-in-time, or selective).
  • Seeds data from production to any org with the click of a button.
  • Meets data regulations—including General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance mandates and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) among others—with fast Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs).

Flosum Data Migrator

Two data stacks with arrows representing the movement of data

When a development sandbox doesn’t include any of the proper application data from the production org, it’s difficult to build and test applications.

Flosum Data Migrator addresses this issue by migrating data between any two orgs (production to developer sandboxes and vice versa).

Data Migrator:

  • Populates sandboxes with realistic fictional data for better application development, safer test environments, and more accurate test results.
  • Migrates data upstream from lower sandboxes to higher sandboxes.
  • Moves data without any intermediary platform, which maintains the data’s security as it moves from the source org to the target org.
  • Anonymizes all sensitive data inside nonproduction environments, which supports privacy and compliance.

The four products on Flosum’s platform help businesses establish strong and effective DevSecOps practices that are completely in sync with Salesforce. Now that you know the benefits of having such a tool, implement your own DevSecOps strategy. You’ll see your teams thrive—and your business value soar.
