Boost Sales with the Reorder Portal

Learning Objectives

After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Explain how the Salesforce reorder portal saves time and boosts sales.
  • List the reorder portal features.
  • Describe how to set up the reorder portal.
  • Describe how to add the reorder portal to a sales engagement cadence.

Reorders Made Easy

Buyer reorders—they make up the majority of your sales and take an extraordinary amount of your sales reps’ time. What if you could reduce time spent managing reorders and still boost reorder sales? Now you can with the Salesforce reorder portal–an automated selling experience for Sales Cloud sellers.

What Is the Reorder Portal?

The reorder portal is a Commerce Cloud micro-service that gives your buyers a streamlined reorder experience initiated by your sales reps through guided steps. It’s a simplified B2B Commerce store UI that focuses a buyer on their past orders and makes a reorder transaction easy to complete. You can install and configure the reorder portal in 30 minutes. And you can be operational in 3 weeks!

The reorder portal optimizes reorder sales and emphasizes buyer convenience. Here’s an example of how it’s used.

  • A sales manager directs sales reps to send buyers a Reorder Portal link as a step in their sales engagement process.
  • A sales cadence prompts a sales rep to engage a buyer with a recommendation to reorder products based on their order history.
  • As a convenience, the rep sends a buyer an invitation that links to the reorder portal.
  • When a rep invites a buyer to a reorder portal, the action creates order summary records for the context order and the past year of order records associated with the buyer.
  • The order summary is shown in the reorder portal along with a preconfigured, ready-to-go reorder transaction.

Reorder Portal Features

The reorder portal requires minimal setup, and offers buyers a streamlined UI, focused on reorders only. Here’s an overview of the features available in the Reorder Portal.

Self-Service Reorders Allows buyers to view past orders, modify quantities, place new orders, and view order statuses.
Sales and Service Integration Creates self-service opportunities, and saves time for sales teams.

Note

The reorder portal is a Commerce Cloud micro-service that doesn't require you to adopt Salesforce Commerce. Rather, the portal uses a B2B Commerce URL.

Create Your Portal

Salesforce makes creating a reorder portal easy with the Commerce Setup Center and the Commerce reorder portal template. The template includes preconfigured Commerce LWR components. For example, the Home page uses the Order List component to display the customer’s recent orders. The Commerce Reorder Portal template.

Brand Your Portal

Use the Brand My Site feature to quickly add logos, fonts, and colors for your company branding. Easily configure checkout functionality in the reorder portal, by adding payment, shipping, and tax calculation services.

Invite Customers

With the Reorder Portal, you can use the convenience of Cadences in Sales Engagement to configure and invite customers and contacts to use the portal. Also, you can invite customers to the portal from the Order Record page by configuring an Einstein Next Best Action component.
