Learning Objectives

After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Explain the steps to create an enterprise solution.
  • Explore solution types.
  • Add enterprise quote members and products.
  • Describe each step of a guided journey.

Create Your Enterprise Solution

Every enterprise solution is unique and requires a unique approach. Linda is counting on Arif to provide a quote for mobile phones for her team.

To explore the steps to create an enterprise solution, check out the interactivity that follows. Click each step name to learn more about it.

Explore Solution Types

Remember, the sequence of steps may vary based on the solution type you’re building and your existing business practices. Whichever type you choose, ESM helps you to deliver the right solution promptly.

Time to explore the solution types used in ESM.

Solution Type

Description

Add Quote Members | Group Quote Members | Add and Configure Products

Open the business account, create the quote, and complete the process when not all the requested products are available to all customer locations.

For instance, Arif tailors the ESM quote for Global Media, ensuring a customized approach based on product availability for each location.

Add and Configure Products | Add Quote Members | Group Quote Members

Configure the products before adding them to the quote members and groups when there is extensive product configuration before allocation.

For instance, Arif configures the products upfront for Global Media, and then assigns them to specific locations, ensuring all configurations meet each area's requirements.

Add and Configure Products | Add Quote Members

Or

Add Quote Members | Add and Configure Products

If you have no quote groups, follow either of these quote patterns.

For instance, Arif customizes the ESM quote for each Global Media location, adding products to specific members or setting up members first, without grouping.

Create an Enterprise Quote and Add Members

Remember the steps to create an enterprise solution? Let’s come back to Arif and see how he creates the enterprise quote, adds quote members, groups them, and adds products in ESM. Arif opens Global Media’s business account and clicks Create Enterprise Quote to create an enterprise quote for Linda’s solution.

If you want to create the quote with a guided journey, select Yes on the window. The guided journey walks you through the steps to add location, add subscribers, select products, and configure products. We learn more about guided journeys later in this unit.

Create enterprise quote button on the account page.

Note

In ESM, locations and subscribers are referred to as quote members.

You can add the details of quote members manually or bulk upload quote members using a CSV or XLS file.

Manually Add Individual Quote Members

Since quote members are specific to a quote, the first step Arif takes to add a quote member is to open the enterprise quote record that he created for Global Media. On the enterprise quote record page, add locations or subscribers by clicking + Add Locations or + Add Subscribers.

Select + Add locations to add location to a quote member.

How easy is that? But Arif needs to add more than 100 locations to the quote. Manually entering these details would be time-consuming. This is where the bulk upload feature is helpful.

Bulk Upload Members

ESM provides a guided process for bulk uploading quote members or order members. All you need is a CSV or XLS file that contains details of the locations to add to the quote or order.

Select a file to upload location details to an enterprise quote.

Click Upload and select the file to use. The locations in the file are displayed on the Location page in your enterprise quote or enterprise order. To avoid duplicate entries, refrain from editing and re-uploading the file.

Using the default View By option, you can organize quote members based on locations and subscribers. Additionally, you can create your own groups to organize quote members in a way that works best for you. This feature helps you avoid ordering the same product multiple times for a member across different groups. With ESM, managing your quotes becomes hassle-free. You can be sure that the right products go to the right people.

For enterprise quotes, you often need to add products for multiple locations or subscribers within a single quote or order. Linda wants the mobile phone allocation for Global Media’s employees based on work location. Organize quote members or order members into groups to speed up product allocation and simplify the solution configuration. Arif can save time by grouping the employees by their locations before allocating products. Select the quote members or order members to group and click Group. On the same page, you can find the Add Products button, which we use in the next section.

The Location tab shows buttons Group and Add Products.

Add Products

Enterprise quotes often require adding products for multiple locations or subscribers within a single quote. Arif has created an enterprise quote, added quote members, and grouped the quote members. Now it’s time to build the solution by adding products (mobile phones) to the quote.

Click Add Products to include products in the quote group.

Create Enterprise Quote with Guided Journey

ESM also allows you to rapidly configure and estimate solutions with discounts and approval. This is achieved using a configurable guided journey based on location or subscribers. The guided journey consists of six steps.

To explore the steps, check out the interactivity below. Click each step name to learn more about it.

In this unit, you learned how Arif creates an enterprise quote, adds quote members, group quote members, and adds products. You explored how different solution types make solution building easier.

In the next unit, you learn how to use ESM to negotiate quotes or orders and enrich them with specific information.
