Marketing Cloud Engagement Einstein Features and Requirements

In this module, we help you understand requirements for Einstein in Marketing Cloud Engagement, Global Data opt-in, and how to activate Einstein features. First things first, to use Einstein engagement insight features in a Marketing Cloud Engagement Account based on your local or your account data, you need to have a minimum of 7 days of historical engagement history in your account. Einstein needs data to get started! If you want to get started right away, Einstein allows marketers to use global data. Let’s learn more.

Use Global Data

In Marketing Cloud Engagement, Einstein uses customer engagement data to make predictions. The more data Einstein has about your customers, the more powerful Einstein’s predictions are.

Global models let Einstein use data from multiple Salesforce customers to better detect trends and improve send time modeling. When it’s enabled in your enterprise account, you can get better predictions by incorporating data from Marketing Cloud Engagement’s global data pool. As a result, predictions are more accurate and can lead to better engagement rates.

To use the model derived from anonymous global data across multiple Marketing Cloud Engagement customers, your Enterprise account must opt in to contribute data to the global data pool. Not sure of your status? Find your opt-in status under Einstein Settings in Marketing Cloud Engagement Setup. Global Data Settings for Einstein’s Insights with the Status section circled.

Before You Begin

We assume you are a Marketing Cloud Engagement admin with the proper permissions to set up features. If you’re not an admin for Marketing Cloud Engagement, that’s OK. Read along to learn how your administrator would take the steps in a production org. Don’t try to follow these steps in your Trailhead Playground. Marketing Cloud Engagement isn’t available in the Trailhead Playground.

Note

If you don’t have access to Einstein features in Setup or have any questions about the use of AWS data, talk with your account executive.

Activate Einstein Features

Once you have confirmed your use of Global Data and know what Einstein features your team wants to use, you’re ready to activate. Admins can follow these activation steps in Setup for each business unit. For all these features, start by searching Einstein from the Quick Find field in Marketing Cloud.
