Discover the Solution with Contract and Enroll

Learning Objectives

After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Give examples of how contracts and enrollments use the overall Salesforce solution.
  • Explain how Contract and Enroll fits into the Digital Insurance Platform.

The Big Picture

Contract and Enroll enables the insurance industry to quickly and easily generate contracts and handle member enrollments.

The Digital Insurance Platform combined with Salesforce Einstein 1 gives insurers an end-to-end digital business platform for managing group and voluntary benefits. Let's take a look at the solution map to see how contracts and enrollments fit into the overall solution.

Layers with lines of business and channels on top, underpinned by the Digital Insurance Platform, OmniStudio, and Salesforce Einstein 1

The overall solution gives you several group insurance capabilities.

  • Support for lines of business: Depending on the lines of business you need to serve, you can implement the Digital Insurance Platform with Financial Services Cloud or Health Cloud. For example, deliver the solution to auto insurance, vision, term life, group benefits, specialty lines, and more using the appropriate cloud solution.
  • Delivery across multiple channels: Do members want to use their laptop to enroll? Their mobile phone to make account changes? It’s all part of the solution. You can even set up a custom portal site for brokers.
  • The Digital Insurance Platform: It runs on Salesforce and enables end-to-end management of core insurance operations spanning product development, quoting, underwriting, policy administration, claims, and of course, ever-important contracts and enrollments.
  • OmniStudio: Use the tools to create top-notch omnichannel experiences that guide users through their contract and enrollment tasks with ease and efficiency. For example, you can create an OmniScript that steps group members through enrolling in plans, including choosing a plan, adding dependents, and signing up for voluntary benefits.
  • Salesforce Einstein 1: This integrated customer relationship management (CRM) platform helps you transform your businesses by uniting marketing, sales, commerce, service, and IT teams with a single, shared customer view. Add Marketing Cloud Engagement to market voluntary benefits to group members during enrollment.

Inside the Digital Insurance Platform

Now, let’s focus on the Digital Insurance Platform.

Layers of components form the Digital Insurance Platform. Insurance Product Administration sits across the bottom, Insurance modules are in the middle, and Service APIs are on top.

Contracts and enrollments don't operate on an island. They work with the other parts of the Digital Insurance Platform, including:

  • Service APIs: Use the services provided with the platform to handle common tasks, such as creating new contracts and enrolling members in their selected plans.
  • Quote, Rate, and Apply: Enable quoting for policyholders, brokers, and underwriters. This includes quote development, quote approval and management, and quoting experiences deployment. Quotes contain customer-selected insurance plans that you set up through product administration.
  • Policy Administration: Administer member policies, for example, update a policy if the member wants to add a new child as a dependent.
  • Contract and Enroll: Create contracts with employers and enroll participants into the contracted plans. This includes automatic generation of a contract from an agreed quote.
  • Claims: Once a policy is issued, policyholders and admins create claims based on need.
  • Insurance Product Administration: Build product models for a variety of plans across different lines of business.

We've introduced you to how Contract and Enroll fits into the solution map and the Digital Insurance Platform. Let’s get more insight into contract and enrollment jobs and who does the work.
