Develop a Strategy for Dreamforce
So you’re excited—and we don’t blame you. So much to do, see, learn, and experience, and so little time. When you go to Dreamforce, you have two choices: Clone yourself, or create a Dreamforce strategy. This unit covers only the second strategy—cloning is for a future unit.
As you’re planning your strategy for Dreamforce, here are a few questions to ask yourself.
- What is my role and experience level?
- How big is my company?
- What industry am I in?
- Which products and features do I want to learn about most?
- How do I prefer to learn?
That last question is super important because it helps you determine the types of experiences to sign up for. Dreamforce features something for everyone, including breakout and theater sessions, hands-on training, keynotes, roundtable discussions, dedicated areas for special roles, and, of course, the Customer Success Expo.Knowing your preference for how you learn helps you choose the right types of sessions.
Pro tip: As you’re filling up your schedule, remember to allow time for breaks so you can tune into Salesforce+ to catch up on Dreamforce sessions you missed.

The Self-Select Option: Sessions Page
Want even more options? Head to the Sessions page to filter easily by hot topics, your role, industry, and product interests. You can also search by keyword to find specific sessions of interest. This year, several session types will be reserved seating. To identify which ones will have it, check out the icon guide at the top of the page—a chair symbolizes this session is reserved seating. Hot tip: You can filter on the sessions page to see which sessions still have seats available!
Reserved Seating? Tell Me More.
This year, several session types have reserved seating. If you sign-up to reserve your seat, we honor your reservation up until 10 mins before the start of the session. Interested in a session but it’s full online? Never fear—we hold room for drop-ins. No guarantee you’ll get in, but if you line up early, you’ve got a shot.
Reserving a seat in a session guarantees there’s a space for you in that session, as long as you arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the session. Reserved seating accounts for some of the overall availability in the session. If a session you want to attend no longer has seats available to reserve, you may still be able to attend by showing up early and joining the drop-in line.
Please note you won’t be able to reserve seats in multiple sessions that occur at the same time. If you’re unable to obtain a seat for a session, you’re encouraged to join the drop-in line, in case a reserved seat is released.
Ten minutes before the beginning of a session, all the unclaimed reserved seats are released to the drop-in line. This means that if you reserve a seat and don’t arrive at the door 10 minutes before the start of the session, your seat is released to allow drop-in attendee participation. It’s your responsibility to arrive in a timely manner to sessions you reserve, or to release your seat on the catalog or mobile app so others can reserve a spot.
