See Data Cloud in Action

Learning Objectives

After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Understand use cases for Data Cloud.
  • See key functionality within the app.
  • Follow ethical data practices.

Use Cases for Data Cloud

Data Cloud can create powerful experiences and business opportunities for any industry and role.

Analysts can connect Data Cloud to Tableau to view unified profiles and gain insights about their customers and business impact quickly and easily. Once a business can view customers based on the number and theme of support tickets, you can then create and implement a plan to reduce support tickets. Reevaluate the data to see if the plan succeeded.

Developers can create applications based on Data Cloud data such as a health-scoring application that calculates the health score of a patient using built-in objects and insights. That score and application become a life-saving experience when a data action triggers a flow to send alerts to medical professionals when a score dips below a certain number.

Sales reps can see insights about their customer prospects and potential sales based on customer likelihood to convert.

An ecommerce manager can use data to personalize their website based on a customer’s browsing behavior and current product stock levels.

Ethical Data Use

With these powerful use cases of Data Cloud, there also comes great responsibility. It’s important to remember that earning and keeping customer trust requires a level of responsibility in how data is used. From providing a clear exchange of value for data, collecting only data that you need, and treating sensitive data carefully, it’s important to have a clear understanding of ethical best practices before you begin using Data Cloud.

Add Data

In the first video demo, watch how to ingest and map data into Data Cloud.

Setup Identity Resolution and Create Insights

Once data is in Data Cloud, you can unify customer records, create insights, and use machine learning models.

Target Audiences Using Data

Now what about the value of this data? Marketers can segment and activate data for an advertising campaign or a Marketing Cloud Engagement journey. Or use Data Cloud data with Marketing Cloud Personalization to personalize a website or trigger an action target to send an email based on a customer’s purchase.

Create Automated Flows and Analyze Data

Finally, watch the final video clip to see how easy it is to create flows and analyze data using Tableau. Or expand the power of Data Cloud to other systems like Snowflake or other business intelligence tools.

AI + Data + CRM

Why is Data Cloud the future of Salesforce? It brings together the possibilities of AI, with the power of robust data processing and unification, under the umbrella of the Salesforce Platform and apps. Now that you have learned more about Data Cloud’s capabilities and seen how it works in Salesforce, what experiences can you create with Data Cloud?
