Salesforce introduced a variety of feature enhancements over the past year. Let’s take a look at some of them.

Build Your Own Predictive AI Models

Let Einstein guide your way to AI-powered predictions in Data Cloud using clicks, not code, to create AI models from scratch. For example, predict numeric measures like opportunity amount or case satisfaction score. Or predict binary outcomes such as whether you’ll win or lose an opportunity or the likelihood a case will be escalated. These are just a few examples of the power of Einstein’s AI predictions. Next, let’s take a brief look at the steps to build a model.

Use Model Builder to create a model that uses historical data to predict future outcomes. Select and structure your data source, define your desired outcome, and train your model to reveal predictive inferences and insights using AI, machine learning, and statistical analysis.

Where: This change applies to Data Cloud in Developer, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions.

How: In Einstein Studio, click New and select Create a model from scratch.

Notify Slack Users with @Mentions in Salesforce

Improve response times and collaboration among colleagues who are part of the same Slack workspace from within Salesforce. Make it easier to draw their attention to specific conversations or issues in Slack with @mentions supported from the Slack Conversations component in Lightning Experience. @Mention Slack users who are part of your workspace and see if they’re marked as active or away in Slack. And, to make your conversations look and feel more like Slack, Slack channel and emojis @mentions are also supported from the Slack Conversations component.

Where: The Service Cloud for Slack app works with Service Cloud in Lightning Experience for Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions. Available for use where approved by a workspace admin and installed in Slack.

Who: Users who have the following permissions: Connect Salesforce with Slack and Slack Service User.

Assign the Slack Service User permission set, which includes access to swarming in Slack, or create a permission set with the required permissions. If you create a custom permission set or use an existing one, make sure that the assigned users have Flow User and Service Cloud User licenses. To configure user permissions for swarming in Slack, see Set Up Swarming User Permissions.

How: To @mention a Slack user in your workspace, enter @ followed by their name in Slack. To @mention a Slack channel, enter # followed by the channel name, To add an emoji, enter : followed by the emoji name.

Catch Up On Emails Quickly with Einstein Email Summaries

Help agents quickly catch up on emails with concise summaries of individual emails or entire email threads.

Where: This change applies to Unlimited and Enterprise editions, with Service Cloud Einstein add-on. Einstein for Service is available in Lightning Experience. To purchase the Einstein for Service add-on, contact your Salesforce account executive.

How: In Setup, search for Einstein Generative AI and verify that it’s on. Then, search for the Einstein Work Summaries and toggle it on. From the Email tab, map Einstein’s responses to Email Summary fields. Finally, turn on Email Message Summaries.

Choose from a Diverse Set of Options to Define a Promotion’s Eligibility Criteria

Marketing managers can choose the eligibility criteria for a promotion from a wide variety of options provided by Global Promotions Management. They can choose a combination of eligibility categories or pick one. Defining diverse and specific eligibility criteria for promotions allows managers to target promotions more effectively. For instance, a promotion targeted at high-tier loyalty program members on their birthday can make those customers feel valued and appreciated, leading to increased customer engagement and improved customer loyalty. The flexibility to define promotion eligibility is a powerful tool for creating successful, targeted marketing campaigns.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Developer, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions where Loyalty Management is available and Global Promotions Management is enabled.

How: From the Promotions component of a loyalty program, click New Quick Promotion. On the Define Promotion Eligibility step of the Quick Promotions guided flow, select your promotion’s eligibility criteria.

Managers can base the promotion’s eligibility criteria on the products purchased, purchase channel, member milestone, and member segmentation. A simple eligibility criterion can be that a promotion is only eligible for purchases made from a specific social media platform. A complex criterion can be that a specific product must be purchased from a particular store by a member who belongs to a loyalty program’s highest tier on their birthday.

Visualize Customers and Prospects on a Map

Keep reps focused on meeting and exceeding sales targets as they plan for in-person and virtual visits with accounts, contacts, and leads in key geographic areas with Salesforce Maps Lite. Identifying customers and prospects on a map helps your reps better plan their routes with fewer miles and set up appointments with fewer gaps in their schedules.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in eligible Performance and Unlimited editions with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Industry Clouds, and Government Cloud Plus. Not available for customers complying with Hyperforce European Union Operating Zone data residency requirements. For more details about eligibility requirements, contact your account executive.

How: From Maps and Location Settings in Setup, select the option that enables Maps Lite. Then, your sales reps can plot as many as 50 accounts, contacts, or leads simultaneously on the map from the Maps Lite tab.

Maps Lite screen with Accounts checked and locations shown on the map.

Reps select from available objects and their list views, scroll the list of records, and load different records on the map when they advance through pages. If reps want to further grow their business using route and schedule optimizations, they can ask their managers for a full Salesforce Maps license.

You’ve learned about some of the most important B2B feature releases over the past year. Now it’s time to test your understanding of these topics and complete the exam to maintain your B2B Solution Architect certification.
