Set Up Action Plans for Lightning Experience

  • Add the Action Plan Templates and Action Plans tabs to apps in your org.
  • Add the Action Plans List Lightning component to Financial Services Cloud Lightning client pages.

Add Action Plans to the Navigation Bar

Matt’s next task is adding tabs for Action Plan Templates and Action Plans to the navigation bar of all required apps (such as Wealth Management and Retail Banking). This makes it easy for Ryan and Srilakshmi to access action plan templates and action plans directly from those apps.

This is what Matt does.

  1. From Setup, enter App Manager in the Quick Find box, then select App Manager.
  2. For the Wealth Management app, select Edit from the dropdown list.
  3. Click Navigation Items.
  4. Under Available Items, select Action Plan Templates and Action Plans, and use the arrows to move them to Selected Items.
  5. In the Selected Tabs list, use the arrows to move Action Plan Templates and Action Plans to where you want them in the navigation bar.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Repeat steps 1 through 6 to add the tabs to Retail Banking and any other custom apps.

Srilakshmi wonders if they can take access one step further: “Wouldn’t it be nice if you could create action plans from an account?” Because that’s exactly what a real-world workflow would look like. Srilakshmi would like to create an action plan directly from Kiara’s account. 

Matt tells her that this is indeed possible! To create action plans for accounts, the Action Plans list must be first available on the Account object page layouts.

Here’s how Matt sets it up.

  1. From Setup, open Object Manager.
  2. Click Account, and select Page Layouts.
  3. Select a page layout that you want to add the Action Plans list to:
    1. In the palette, select Related Lists.
    2. Drag Action Plan to Related Lists.
    3. Click Save.
  4. Repeat the steps to add Action Plans to more page layouts.

Customize Record Pages

To start using action plans on account records, the team must add the Action Plans List Lightning component to Financial Services Cloud Lightning client pages and any pages that they customized or created. 

Ryan has some admin skills of his own, so he decides to work directly with Srilakshmi to accomplish this.

Ryan and Srilakshmi want to modify the following Financial Services Cloud Lightning client pages.

  • Client Record Page
  • Banking Business Account Page
  • Banking Household Page - One Column
  • Banking Household Page - Two Column
  • Banking Individual Page - One Column
  • Banking Individual Page - Two Column

Here’s how they do it.

  1. From Setup, enter App Builder, and select Lightning App Builder.
  2. Click Clone next to the Client Record Page, and find any clones of those pages.
  3. In Lightning App Builder:
    1. Add a custom page tab for the Action Plans List and name it Action Plans.
    2. In the component palette, select Action Plans List - Financial Services Cloud and drag it to where you want it on the page.
    3. Click Save.
    4. Click Activate, and click Assign as Org Default, and then Save.
